I like this record. A lot. Twin Sister is from Long Island, NY but don't let that put you off. They have this really, really great Dream-Pop meets Soul vibe that has been making an appearance in a lot of great new music lately (think Tame Impala, but with the rare blessing of having a chick singer with pop sensibility. And not Australian). If you're looking for bands to compare them to, I'll throw out Beach House, Cocteau Twins, and Stars but these guys really have a unique sound so don't get too "Pandora Radio" on me.

"The Other Side of Your Face" starts off slow but turns into a really beautiful pop song. "Lady Daydream" certainly feels like a continuation of that gorgeous songwriting, but is definitely easier to vibe with and is my recommendation for a newcomer. This song is sad, beautiful, and catchy as all fuck. It would be a great contender for "Garden State 2: The Empire Strikes Braff" should the Zachattack wise up and and start taking my dozens of emails full of movie ideas seriously. Next track: "Milk and Honey". The bass and drums have a good thing going, really driving but still mellow as per the aesthetic of the rest of the album. Andrea's schizophrenic-sounding vocals match up with this perfectly. "All Around and Away We Go"; this is my favorite song on the album and one of my favorite songs that I've heard in a long time. Funky, laid back, reverb-y, lush, intricate, dreamy. It starts off kind of lame, but then the vocals kick in and the song really takes flight. The next track, frankly, is more of a filler song so we'll skip it. "Phenomenons" ends "Color" in a fitting fashion. Can't describe it better than that.

If you couldn't tell, I'm very excited about these guys, however immature that excitement may be given the relatively young age of the band. They have really great careers ahead of them, definitely looking forward to future releases and projects.
